Józef Peszka (born on 19 February 1767 in Kraków, died on 4 September 1831) is a Polish painter who studied art in Warsaw under the watchful eye of Franciszek Smuglewicz. In his youth he travelled a lot, in 1813 he settled permanently in Cracow and started lecturing at the School of Fine Arts.
Exceptional is his way of depicting women, which he mostly presented in the mythological convention.
