Joseph Mallord William Turner (born 23 April 1775 in London, died 19 December 1851 in London) is an English painter known for his romantic landscapes. He is considered a precursor of Impressionism. His paintings are characterized by beautiful colors; mainly yellows. The painter had an extraordinary ability to use light. An interesting fact is that the artist was not able to paint characters at all and did not pay much attention to this fact.
